“Bali Belly” is commonly used for diarrhoea while in Bali. The phrase is not a diagnosis; illness during travel can have different causes. This page addresses questions about kefir without presenting Pandawa as a treatment.
Does kefir prevent or cure Bali Belly?
No Pandawa product-specific clinical evidence is published here to establish prevention or treatment of Bali Belly. The CDC says evidence is insufficient to recommend probiotics for preventing travellers’ diarrhoea. Findings about other products or strains do not automatically apply to this drink.
If you have diarrhoea
Prioritise fluids to avoid dehydration. A pharmacist can advise about oral rehydration solutions. The NHS advises avoiding fizzy drinks during diarrhoea because they may worsen it; a naturally sparkling fermented drink is not a substitute for oral rehydration solution.
When to seek medical help
Get medical help if you cannot keep fluids down, have blood in your stool or ongoing signs of dehydration. Sudden severe abdominal pain needs urgent attention. Young children and people with underlying conditions need particular care.
Where does Pandawa Water Kefir fit?
Water Kefir is part of the Pandawa fermented-drink menu. Our product information and Bali buying guide help you choose a drink; they are not a diagnosis, treatment dose or recovery promise. If unwell, ask a healthcare professional about appropriate food and drinks.
